Christian Ghedina was born in Cortina d'Ampezzo november the 20th 1969; his parents are Angelo and Adriana, a very good skier that died in 1984 due to a ski accident on the famous and terrible piste of the Forcella Staunies. During his youth, he developped a great passion for downhill, because of hi love for speed and risk. He became his career in the World Cup in the best way: in 1990, in the first year of the career, 1990, reached the third on his beloved Saslong, in S. Cristina in Val Gardena and a second place in Schladming. Then he broke three ribs during the downhill on the Streif in Kitzbuhel, but that couldn't stop him. He won the silver medal in the World championship of Saalbach in 1991. Another tragedy came fast: a terrible car accident brought him to risk his life and caused him heavy brain damages. After three years without good results, the great ghedina came back with a silver medal in 1996 in the World championship in Sierra Nevada and in 1997 in Sestrière. Very important is the record of the piste of the Lauberhorn in Wengen, the longest piste of the World Cup and the victory in 1998 on the popular Streif of Kitzbuhel. Then came another critical period, since 2002, that sadly is not ended yet.
