The Avisio has its source in the ice of the Marmolada and crosses the whole fassa Valley; it flows through each town and then goes on to Adige Valley. During the winter, when it's rather cold, you can observe the phenomenon represented in this photo: from the river rises up a clud of smoke, so that people of the Valley say thath "the water boils".
