CROSS COUNTRY

Fassa Valley, birthplace of the Marcialonga, has got a great tadition in the field of Cross Country. . All over the valley you can find a large number of trakcs, from the easiest one to the most demanding ones; some of them lie along the popular course of the Marcialonga, one of the most popular cross country competitions in the world. These are the most important tracks in Fassa Valley:

PIAN TREVISAN  Length: 3.3 km    Difference in height: 41m    MEDIUM

Starting from the northern part of Fassa Valley we can find the track of Pian Trevisan through the woods at the feet of Gran Vernel, near the Refuge Villetta Maria. In some periods of the year this track could be closed because of snow conditions and avalanche danger.

CIAMPAC    Length: 2.1 km     Difference in height: 28m     MEDIUM

In the wonderful Ciampac Valley, in the middle of the homonymous skiarea, lies this track that runs across the plains around the Colac until the basis of the slopes of Sella Brunech. Here you can enjoy a wnderful landscape on the Group of Sella.

CIASATES    Length: 1.5 km Difference in height: 25m   VERY EASYCross country Fassa Valley

This track lies along the Avisio in the eastern part of Canazei, near the forest that separates the village from Alba.

SORONC  Length: 1.5 km  Difference in height: 10m VERY EASY

This little ring (you cann see it in the photos) lies in the wide plain south to Gries, hamlet of Canazei, just near the Hotel Caminetto. It's near to the main street of the valley, so it is not recommanded to those who linke tranquillity; however it's a wonderful track.

SOREGHES Length: 2.8 km   Difference in height: 15m   VERY EASY

It's a wonderful ring that connects the cableway of Campitello with Gries and Canazei. One side crosses the woods at the feet of Col Pelous while on the other side it runs across the wide plain of Cercenà.

Cross country Fassa ValleyCAMPITELLO-MAZZIN  Length: 8.3 km  Difference in height: 58m   EASY

This track stretches along the left side of the Avisio, traversing the forest from Campitello to Mazzin; the path crosses also the wodds of the little villages of Fontanazzo and Campestrin.

CIANCOAL Length: 3.5 km  Difference in height: 70m  EASY

This ring lies in a sunny position in the wide plain between Pera and Pozza, just in front of the Group of Monzoni and Catinaccio. It's not far from the center of Pozza

SORAGA    Length: 2 km     Difference in height: 20m     VERY EASY

It's a little ring situated in the eastern part of Soraga, along the Avisio.

FRIN   Length: 5 km     Difference in height: 45m     EASY

This ring on Costalunga Pass, lies in the middle of a wonderful wood at the feet of Catinaccio. You can find it along the road to Nigra Pass.

CAMPO D'ORSO     Length: 8.5 km     Difference in height: 320m     MEDIUM

It's one of the most demanding rings of Fassa Valley; it lies near S. Pellegrino Pass, in the Alochet Cross Country Center. The difference in heigh is notable but the position permits you to enjoy also a wonderful landscape.

ALOCHET    Length: 2.5 km     Difference in height: 60m     VERY EASY

It lies in the Alochet Cross Coutry Center, near S. Pellegrino Pass.

MASARÉ     Length: 2 km     Difference in height: 125m     EASY

It's the third track of the Alochet Cross Coutry Center; it stretches along the road to S. Pellegrino Pass, crossing the other rings of the area.
