SKIAREA BUFFAURE-ALOCH

Skiarea Pozza Buffaure

Skiarea Pozza Buffaure 01 - Buffaure di sotto MEDIUM

START: 2115  END: 1980   LENGHT: 400m     MEDIUM SLOPE: 34%

It's a classical medium piste, served by a chair lift built few years ago. Between the first and the last stretch with a demanding incline, lies a central rather flat section. This track is not the best slope a skier could desire, but the first slope is rather demanding and exciting.

Skiarea Pozza Buffaure 02 - Col Valvacin MEDIUM

START: 2354  END: 2041   LENGHT: 1640m    MEDIUM SLOPE: 19%

It's the last piste built in the skiarea Buffaure, and it's served by a modern chair lift. The track is not very large, but we can't consider it as difficult. Through a pair of turns the piste goes down the western slope of Col Valvacin, till the station of the facility; you can also join the piste Buffaure. The incline is almost never demanding; but the landscape from the top of the mountain is wonderful.

Skiarea Pozza Buffaure 03 - Baby Buffaure  VERY EASY

START: 2061  END: 2040   LENGHT: 180m   MEDIUM SLOPE: 12%

It's a classical baby piste, reserved to begineer skiers. Served by a skilift, it's very short and shows a difference in height of only 20 meters.

Skiarea Pozza Buffaure 04 - Buffaure MEDIUM

START: 2048  END: 1340   LENGHT: 5100m     MEDIUM SLOPE: 24%

It's a very long piste that, starting om the top of Buffaure next to the Refuge Buffaure (2020m), arrives untill Meida, hamlet of Pozza di Fassa (1320), going through the woods of S.Nicoḷ Valley. The first part of the slope is a classical red piste, with inclines between 20% and 25%, although some stretches are steeper; but don't worry, surely it is not difficult! When you arrive at the foot of Buffaure, the track changes decidedly: first it becomes narrow and then the incline decreases: in some stretches it is necessary to use the ski sticks. After a pair of kilometers you reach Meida, next to the start of the Buffaure cableway, that brings again on the top.

Skiarea Pozza Buffaure 05 - Pala del Geiger MEDIUM

This slope was recently built in the Jumela Valley, between Buffaure and Ciampac. It's served by a modern chair-lift and crosses the southern side of Col de Valvacin untill the bottom of the valley. The incline is rather steep but always regular, except a few almost flat stretches; this slope is not so long but you have to pay attention to probable iced streches (because of the altitude and the northern exposure)

Skiarea Pozza Buffaure 06 - Orsa Maggiore EASY

This track, served by a long modern chair-lift, crosses the gentle slopes of the higher Jumela Valley, starting fomr the Sella Brunech, on the boundary with Ciampac Valley. The slope is very nice, without difficulties, and has no steep streches. Beginner skiers can enjoy this track without any problem, it's always large and the snow conditions are usually good.  Link to Skiarea Ciampac.

Skiarea Pozza Buffaure 07 - Ski Stadium Aloch MEDIUM/DIFFICULT

START: 1630  END: 1323   LENGHT: 1000m    MEDIUM SLOPE: 31%

This piste is situated in the center of Pozza di Fassa, separated from the skiarea Buffaure but it can be travelled over with the same skipass. The track descends the northern slope of the MoSkiarea Pozza Buffaurenzoni and it offers two alternatives: the "direct descent" and the gentler one. These tracks separate some meters after the chair lift station; the gentler track sets out for west and goes along a large turn; the "direct descent" dives to Pozza, with rather demanding inclines. Then the piste levels untill the end. A negative caracteristic of this track is the fact that it is situated on the northern slope of the mountain, and so you often can find iced or ery hard stretches. But there's also something positive: the lighting that permits to ski untill late at night.
