REF. BELVEDERE-REF. SASS BECE'-REF. FREDAROLA-REF. VIAL DEL PAN-REF. PORTA VESCOVO

On the street that from Canazei leads to Pordoi Pass (2239m), park the car in the little hamlet of Pecol (1926m), that can be reached also through the cableway of Canazei, but in my opinion it's not the best solution. In Pecol take another cableway that in a few minutes reaches the Col dei Rossi (2384m): look in the meadows: you could find a lot of marmots. From the top, a short descent enters the wonderful Belvedere valley with the homonymous Refuge Belvedere (2338m), that can be reached also from Pordoi Pass through a narrow path. Then go along the path n°601, leaving for a while the main way in order to reach the Refuge Sass Becé (2426m), on the top of a little hill, where the surrounding lanscape can be definded only as wonderful. Now walk down the eastern face of the hill untill the Refuge Fredarola  (2360m). Here the path 601° becomes a little lane that skirts the mountain; it's very easy and in around 45 minutes you'll reach the Refuge Vial del Pan (2436m). Continue along the same path that becomes each time more narrow and in some stretches the march is made difficult by little landslides. The path goes on through ups and downs untill it crosses the one coming from Fedaia Pass (2057). At this point you'll reach a little Valley, on whose top we can see our destination. Now the way begins to climb up through steep sharp turns and in around 15 minutes the Refuge Porta Vescovo (2516m) can be reached. From here you can enjoy one of the best landscape on the Marmolada but also on the Badia Valley and the group of Fanes. The return could be along the same path or through the old cableway of Porta Vescovo untill Arabba (1605m), in the Livinallongo, where you can take the bus to Pordoi Pass and Pecol.
