NICKNAME OF THE INHABITANTS: "Strions", that is wizard, maybe beause of the the process against witches tath took place here in the Middle Age

Soraga is a little village in the lowest part of Fassa Valley, near the boundary with Fiemme Valley. In the last centuries Soraga was the first village of the valley coming from South, since Moena belongeSoraga Soragad to the community of Fiemme, under the control of Trento,while the rest of the valley was ruled by the bishop of Bressanone. The houses in the tipical alpin styile are very nice; the village lies around the central square, is crossed by the Statale delle Dolomiti. In the southern part of Soraga the Avisio forms a little lake, an ideal place to practise fishing. In Soraga you can find: bank, post office, chemist, doctor, minigolf, football ground and cycle path in the wood. There are no uphill lifts: the nearest skiareas are the one of Vigo-Catinaccio and the one of Moena-S. Pellegrino.

San Pellegrino Pass lies around 10 km far from Moena and connects Fassa Valley with Veneto in the area of Falcade (Belluno). On the Pass you can find some hotels, uphill lifts (some of them are open in summer too) and a little lake to practise fishing.
