the Group of Catinaccio; the village lies around 100 meters higher on the bottom
of the valley.
Vigo
is a very nice village, rich on life both in summer and in winter. In Summer the
players of the most important italian football clubs usually spend their
holiday in this village, while in winter a lot of skiaer are attracted by the
slopes of the Group of Catinaccio. In Vigo you can find two
churches (the one of S. Giovanni and the one of S. Giuliana, that can be reached
through a path from the center of the village), chemist, doctor, library, bank,
a wonderful minigolf, the modern cableway of Ciampedie, a sport center and the
main seat of the Museum Ladin de Fascia. The main street connects Vigo
with Costalunga Pass and Carezza Lake: this is a very important line of
communication between the areas of Trento and Bolzano.
THE HAMLETS
TAMION
1548m
Tamion is a little village that can be reached by car through the street of Costalunga Pass. It's very nice, it's the classical village not reached from tourism yet; the little church deserves a brief tour.
1745m
Costalunga Pass is a very important ski resort, between Latemar and Roda de Vael, that connects the zones of Trento and Bolzano, two areas very different from a cultural point of view. Not far from the Pass, in the village of Nova Levante/Welschnofen, you can find the wonderful Lago di Carezza, in whose water the huge peaks of Latemar are reflected.
